Alex L Garcilazo

Alex L Garcilazo, age 65, of Waukegan, Illinois passed away on Monday, December 18, 2023.He was born in Waukegan, IL and lived there his entire life. Alex is the beloved son of Maria Campos Arizpe and the late Pedro Montecino Garcilazo and step son of Henrietta Hernandez Garcilazo,; dear brother of Adela Lopez, Peter Garcilazo, Albert (Nancy) Garcilazo, Maryellen Rowell, James(Carmen) Garcilazo, Jose (Michele) Macias, Guillermo Macias, Debby Santiago, Gary Garcilazo and Geralyn Garcilazo; cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Alex was the owner and President of Midland Glass Company in Libertyville, IL. for the past 42 years serving the people of the Lake/Cook County areas. Over the years, he devoted his time as a foster dad, supporting children/teens who were unable to live safely with their families. He gave his foster children the love and stability a permanent home provides. Alex was also a second dad to his nephews and nieces, who he loved as his own. He was an active resident for the City of Waukegan. Alex was loved by all and will be truly missed by his family and friends.

A visitation for Alex will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, December 27, 2023 from 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Interment will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at Ascension Catholic Cemetery & Mausoleum, 1920 W. Buckley Rd.,, Libertyville, IL 60048.
