Carter Robert Castorena

Carter Robert Castorena (Carter Bear), 5 ½ , loved by many, passed away unexpectedly at Misericordia Home in Chicago on January 7, 2025. Carter was the light of our lives and brought us so much happiness in his short time on earth. He loved music and his infectious smile touched everyone around him.

He is survived by his mom Katie Deason, dad Javier Castorena Jr, loving Grandmas Dawn Deason and Elizabeth Castorena, Grandpa Javier Castorena Herrera, Uncles Mark Deason and Robert (Michael) Deason-Driscoll, Aunt Maricela (Jorge) Ramirez and half siblings Niko, Mya and Analise and a host of other relatives and friends. He is proceeded in death by his Grandpa Robert E Deason Sr.

The family would like to send special thanks to his loving caregivers, therapists and teachers at Misericordia Home, Molloy Education Center and LaRabida Childrens Hospital. Their loving care was so important in Carter’s life. They are like family to us.

A visitation will take place on Monday, January 20, 2025 from 4-8 pm at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at 10 am at St Paul The Apostle Church, 6401 Gages Lake Road, Gurnee, IL. Interment at Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, IL.
