Erin , I never stopped thinking of you. . Though it was so many years ago and only but a sliver in time , it was the only moment in my life , which I was able to step out of the darkness , that was my world , and experience the glowing light that was yours. Two spirits , two diffent worlds , it was a moment set aside by God for us to meet , for us to see each others world . For reasons i have yet to discover why , some 20 somewhat years ago . Only a few knew and it will remain so . It is the only way i can preserve the memories in my heart . A beautiful angel  etched in my mind and soul . Some nights in the darkness i gaze up at the sky and wonder if it was all a dream . Ive looked here many a times , write something  then erased it but today i write this not for anyone to question who i am and what  memories we shared , the talks , thoughts and dreams. Erin it's been a year since the absolutely worst day in my life.  Actually that day would come tomorrow when I found out.  Hard to believe that anybody could survive the pain.  Even now I have to keep fro thinking I'll never see you again or whether you had any pain or fear as you passed.  I wish there had been something anybody could have done to save you.  I feel guilty that I couldn't help.  Still so sad.  Miss you with all of my heart forever.  You are the first thought in the morning and the last thought at night.  And a hundred thoughts each day.

I miss you and love you and pray that you knew I loved you your whole life.  I remember your 8th or 9th birthday at your party as you came out of the pool and walked to the patio door.  I said "I love you baby" and you said, "Oh Dad, I've known that for a long time".  Beautiful to hear.  Well I love you more than ever babe.  

Your friends have remembered you with beautiful thoughts and words yesterday and today.  So comforting to know that your friends loved you and saw what I did: a beautiful, kind, gentle. and exciting soul so full of life and empathy for others.  They posted pictures.  My God your smile just lit up my life as I'm sure it did for your friends.  I miss that forever too.

But I'll see you again.  I saw you in a dream only once since that day.  I have to believe that dream was actually you telling me you are OK and free.  When you said "I have to go", the only words spoken in this too short dream, I cried just like that day I learned of your passing.  Oh my God it hurt.  But you know that I needed to see you more than I ever had during your life.  I am now convinced we'll be together again and that's a blessing.

In August 2012, I suffered a stroke and had to leave the VA where we shared our wonderful time.

I was paralyzed entirely on my right side and I felt I did not want to burden you with my situation.

It took me until yesterday after work to get enough courage to finally meet you only to find you went to heaven because God needed you more.

Erin, I am back. God gave me another chance. My health has improved and my paralysis is almost gone. I am working again  not as network technician for VA IT systems but as team leader for
for private company in Libertyville. It took me this long so as to prepare a home, job, and courage to ask you to marry me.

Oh God why does thou need my Erin so much? If you would have given us a chance to continue our happiness just a little longer maybe thou'est would not call her to heaven.

Erin, it was I who tried to secretly buy those eye glasses for you. Yes, it was I that tried to help you get out out of the cafeteria work because you were much more talented.

Erin my love, just being with you, your  smile, your voice, you one-of-kind-cheerfulness, just being near you brought happiness to me. When you laughed and smiled...it made the world a better place.

I miss your stories about CLC, your transitioning in Rogers Park, and struggles of life that you shared.    

Most of all, I miss you for being just you.

It was a crazy day the night you were born but no parents could be prouder. You had a head full of hair that the nurses combed in a big curl on top of your head. Your adult years are a blurr as time has a way of moving so fast.  Many people loved and cared about you, including your parents. I am a photographer and took pics of Erin in Chicago in 2004-2005.  She was an awesome girl, very nice.  I had not seen her since 2005 and just read about her passing today...and was shocked.  I am glad to have known her even for the short time we worked together.

I was crushed to hear the news about my dear childhood friend Erin. The time we spent together as kids is etched in my memory forever. I've never met another person like Erin and I know I never will! We were so close at one time I regret never getting back in touch later in life, as no doubt we would have had more fun times together as adults. I first met Erin back in 2004, She was the receptionist and I was the IT guy at a wine company in lake bluff. Took me a while to talk to her, she was so beautiful. Once we started talking I thought she was the most awesome person I had ever met. We became really good friends, hanging out after work, going to her parents house to watch old, scary, weird movies using her playstaion as the dvdplayer. It was always her, me and of course, Murphy. She loved to cook. I was with her when she bought her first car. The evil yellow one.  she hated that thing. even after I left the wine company we still hung out, every Saturday at this place called the closet.  We would stay sitting in the same corner of the bar just talking and talking till they closed, then going next door for a coffee and breakfast. Then the long drive to Gurnee to take her home cause I would never let her take the train or cab when she was with me. She started taking me to a few of her photo shoots as her "bodyguard".  The look on her face every time a camera was pointing at her was amazing, she loved it..  I visited her a few times where she was living at, maybe three years ago.  We got to hang out all day, it had been a long time since we have seen each other. She was so happy that day. I got to visit her at her place in Waukegan back in February of this year, spent the weekend there, never have I talked to someone for three days straight on no sleep, guess we had a lot to talk about.. man can she talk. Never a dull moment around Erin though.  Never failed when she was in the middle of a story to cut it short to talk about her brother.. she talked about Ryan a lot, she loved him very much. We even talked about being room mates in the same building but with two rooms. The plan was awesome, we were really excited about it. But the plan didn't go through.  We would write to each other every once in a while after that.  It broke my heart when I found out that she is gone.. I can't stop thinking about WHAT IF that moving in together plan went through? I would have taken care of my friend. Maybe this wouldn't have happened. even now I still cant believe it. Life just won't be the same without her. I will always love you Erin Connor, you are the greatest friend a person can ask for..  I  miss you!!!!  thoughts and prayers to the Connor family.
