

Ernest Masucci, son of Steve Masucci and Margaret Masucci, a loving husband, father, brother, uncle and respected businessman, passed away on April 24, 2026 at 4:28am at the age of 71. He passed away from health complications.
He was born in Chicago and built a life grounded in dedication, integrity, and love for his family. He enjoyed Chicago sports, especially the Chicago Blackhawks. He loved fishing and boating on Lake Geneva with his grandson Matthew and nephew; Tom. He is the successful owner/operator of six McDonald locations winning many awards along the way and credits the many men and women he refers to as my people, working with him as contributors to his success. Ernest was also a Board Member for McDonalds and the Community. He was also a Member of St. Raphael Church. He was known for his strong work ethic, leadership and commitment to excellence. He took great pride in his work, but nothing meant more than the people he loved.
As a husband, Ernest was a loving partner to Kathleen Masucci for over fifty years and best friend, sharing a life with love, support, and cherished memories. He offered wisdom, encouragement and unconditional love to his daughter Rebecca Lynn Leifeld, son-in-law Shane Leifeld and grandson Matthew Lee Leifeld. He was a source of love and comfort and his values and lessons will live through those lives he raised.
Ernest will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and devotion to his family. He has left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.
A visitation will be held on May 4, 2026 with family only from 4pm to 5pm and for the public 5pm-8pm at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. Another visitation will be held on Tuesday May, 5th at 9:30am at Marsh Funeral Home. A Funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM at St. Raphael Catholic Church, 40000 North U.S. Highway 45, Old Mill Creek, IL 60046.
