Gerry was a kind and gentle man who was a friend to all people. He will be remembered and missed by all who knew him. Janet and I extend our heartfelt condolences to Karen and the girls.

How we will all miss Jerry.  Jerry is my father's best friend since childhood.  He and my Mom didn't have a chance to travel significantly until late in life, and several of their most cherished trips were with Jerry and Karen.  

Although Jerry and Karen moved away from the hometown he grew up in with my Dad, Jerry was a big part of my life growing up, even though we only saw he, Karen, Lynn and Karla a few times a year.  Despite this, I always considered him to be as close to being a second Dad as I would ever have.  I remember him giving me fatherly advice as a child, and even some advice as a young man I came back to recently, reflecting on its significance.  And just a few years back, well after his retirement, he gave me unsolicited insurance advice that I didn't know I needed but did.  That's the giving kind of guy he was.

I was lucky to have attended Bears games with him, even a road trip with he and my Dad, and a friend of mine.  I'm so thankful I was able to have Jerry as a part of my life from childhood to adulthood.  Also thankful my Dad, son and I were able to visit Jerry and Karen at their beautiful home in Tucson in 2015 (picture attached).  It was on this trip that I told him for the first of many times, he was the most energetic, positive and zestful man of his age I have ever known.  And he continued to be so even while he was fighting so hard.  I also realized on that trip that no one that has ever lived on this Earth could be more skilled at fitting 3 or 4 cars into a 2 car garage.

 Although we only met Jerry a couple times, we remember his kind smile, his quick wit and how proud he was of his daughters!  I hope all the good memories of his love and laughter stay with you and comfort you.  We send you prayers, warm thoughts and our deepest condolences.  

We are here for you if you need help with Lilly or a quick meal!

My husband & I were blessed to have Jerry and Karen as our next door neighbors for the last 7 years.  I’ll never forget Jerry “bouncing” over to introduce himself - and the rest was history. The four of us became fast friends - and we cherished the visits, the chats, the laughs and smiles we had together.   I’ll always remember his kind heart, his boundless energy and his inquisitive spirit.  Rest easy, sweet Jerry.  You will be missed.  

Lynn, Mr. P’s oldest daughter, is my best friend. I have known the family since I was 6 years old. Mr. P was a second father to me. He treated me like a daughter and when he scolded Lynn I got it too! I remember when we crashed his beloved   snowmobile into a tree. We were very scared.  He was very good at lecturing. He instilled core values in  his girls and me too. I know I am a better person because I was blessed to have him in such a big part of my life.  He was so friendly and happy all the time. I will miss the great hugs and “smooches” he never forgot to share.  Love you Mr. P, you will be truly missed by many. My love to Pilch, Mrs. P, Karla, and all the family. It is a very difficult time but you have so many wonderful memories to help get you through.

He will always be remembered for his corvettes. My first corvette ride was in the Gurnee parades, a day I will always remember.

Karen & family,  so sorry to hear of Jerry’s passing.   He always had a winning smile for everyone and I certainly enjoyed working with him at Country all those years.   Always a gentlemen.     He will be missed.

It is with sadness in our hearts 💕 that we remember our wonderful Oro Valley neighbor,  Jerry. He fought a long tough battle with no complaints  and will be greatly missed as he touched many lives with his friendly happy personality.
 
We have many awesome memories of happy hour on our patio with Jerry and Karen enjoying the beautiful Catalina Mountains. Future happy hours with Karen will be dedicated to Jerry in heaven.

One memorable adventure together was a planned trip to Mata Ortiz, Mexico, however Jerry  could not take his car into Mexico as he had forgotten his car registration!  This was a guy who knew everything about cars!!  Karen did get some handmade pottery of our choosing

Jerry was our neighbor for 30 years or so.  He always greeted us with a big smile and "Hello, neighbor!" He freely offered his advice on lawn care and other property maintenance matters. Our kids also enjoyed fishing in his pond, which he encouraged.  I remember a few years back, he wanted to build a pole barn near his home to store some of his great old cars.  I told him it was OK with me, if I could visit and look over his collection. Sadly, that plan didn't work out.  When we used to ride our bikes on the lane in the evening, he would often invite us over for a drink and some good conversation. We'll miss you, Jerry.
