Herman John Schonenberg, age 101, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on Saturday, September 4, 2021. Herman was born September 12, 1919 in New York City, NY to John and Bertha Schonenberg. He is survived by his three children, Todd (Debbie) Schonenberg, Amy (Mark) Dryfoos and Lee (Laura) Schonenberg; six grandchildren, Jill (David) Roth, David (Marcy) Schonenberg, Mark (Jillian) Dryfoos, Laura (Chase) Heatley, Will Schonenberg and Richard (Amy) Schonenberg; seven great-grandchildren, Noah, Sophie, Hank, Emma, Chole, Andy and Anna. Herman was preceded in death by his wife Emily Schonenberg nee Curtin.
