Inez M. Chandler

Inez M. Chandler, age 99, passed on to Heaven on May 1, 2018. Inez lived in the Gurnee and Waukegan area until moving to Rockford in 2003. Inez was born March 25, 1919 in Waukegan to the late Louis and Barbara Truby. She was married for 54 years to her late husband, Raymond E. Chandler. Inez worked many years in the business office of St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan. She was a member at St. Dismas Church where she was active in the Bell Choir, The SPREAD program, and the Womens Club. Inez enjoyed her gardens, playing cards, watching birds, and the Chicago Cubs.

Inez is survived by her daughters Rita (Philip) Papes and Darlene (Michael) Johnson; grandsons Philip (Diane) Papes and Michael Papes; granddaughters Carrie (Andrew) Snell, Cheryl (Brent) Hayes, and Mandy (Luke) LeFevre; 12 great-grandchildren and brother Benjamin Truby.

Inez is predeceased by her husband, and brothers Denys, Walter, William, and Robert Truby, and sister Rose Cook.

Inez will be lovingly remembered as a strong woman of faith, who loved her family, and was a very kind and caring friend to many. As we cherish wonderful memories and stories of her long life, she will be greatly missed by us all.

Inez will lie in state at St. Dismas Church, 2600 Sunset Ave, Waukegan Monday from 9-10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM. Interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville.

In lieu of flowers a donation in memory of Inez can be made to St. Dismas Church.
