

John F. Schoknecht, (1952 - 2014) 62, of Waukegan, IL died on November 14, 2014 at Condell Advocate Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. John was born on November 9, 1952 in Waukegan, IL to Jerry and Joan (Akins) Schoknecht. John was a 1970 graduate of Waukegan Township High School. John continued to live in Waukegan working for Fred Losch Beverages, Commonwealth Edison, Motorola Corporation, and Green Oaks School District. John met his wife Judy, the love of his life, on a blind date in 1970 and they were united in marriage on November 27, 1971. John loved muskie fishing in Hayward, WI, and hunting. John was a founding member of North Beach Vans. John is survived by his wife, Judy (Watt); his beloved dog, Chip; his mother, Joan Schoknecht of Waukegan, IL; sisters, Jill S. Costa of Beach Park, IL, Janet (Kevin) Hoff of Pleasant Prairie, WI; brother-in-law, Bob (Nancy) Watt of Pinehurst, NC; sister-in-law, Tina (Steve) White of Waukegan, IL; aunts and uncles, Ron (Carol) Akins, Betty Lou (Glenn) Herberger, Dick (Edna) Akins; nephews and nieces, Jerry Costa, Toni Costa, Diane (Dan) Miles, Brian Hoff, Shawn (Michelle) Watt, Chris Watt, Heather Watt, Steven White, Christopher White; six great-nephews and nieces; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry, in 2007; maternal grandparents, Lewis and Norene Akins; paternal grandparents, Elizabeth Schoknecht Rasdon, Frederick Schoknecht; in-laws, Art and Gladys Watt; also his beloved hunting dogs, Askhim, Harry and Askhim II. Visitation will be held from 5:00p.m. until 8:00p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, IL on Wednesday, November 19, 2014. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at 11:00a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00a.m. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park, 3300 Hunt Club Rd., Libertyville, IL.
