Joyce O. Olsen

Joyce is survived by her husband Clifford Olsen (married August 22nd, 1959), daughter Susan (Jon) Brodzik Jr., and grandchildren Jenelle (Nathan Harting) Brodzik and Timothy (Laine) Brodzik. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Norma Gehrls; sisters Delores (Maynard) Urban, Beverly (Ronald) Behringer, and Donna (Ken) Hammrick; and brothers Clarence Jr., Donald Gehrls, and Michael (Christine) Gehrls.

Joyce will be remembered for her loving and giving heart. She enjoyed summers and fall in her garden, sharing what seeds were doing best along with some secrets canning all the veggies and fruits she harvested. She taught many not only how to bake but how to decorate a cake as well. During the holidays, she was always busy baking cookies to share with friends, family and neighbors.

A visitation for Joyce will be held Thursday, January 26, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031. A graveside service will occur Friday, January 27, 2023 from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM at Northshore Garden of Memories, 1801 N. Green Bay Rd., North Chicago, IL 60064. A funeral service will occur Friday, January 27, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031.
