

Julia Mary Cooper passed away on October 29, 2022 in Lake Forest Illinois due to complications of COVID and pneumonia She was born Julia Stefanini in Chicago Heights, Illinois on May 11, 1924 to the late Anthony and Josephine Stefanini. Julia married William Cooper Feb 17, 1951. Loving mother of Steve Cooper and Renee (Lawrence) Bova. Grandmother of Mario and Bianca Bova. Sister of Barbara Louise (Arthur) Albert, Charmaine (John) Mascitti Sr., and Anthony Richard Stefanini.
Julia attended Argo Community High School in Summit, Illinois, and completed a year of Business College. . She lived to age 98, surviving the Great Depression, World War II, and the eras of the baby boomers, the Gen-x-errs, and the Millennials. She found the post pandemic world confusing and chaotic, as so many of us do. She enjoyed solving crossword puzzles, which she said removed her for a few minutes from all her worries and concerns, and reading mystery and romance stories. Julia liked to lay back and listen to music, either Big Band or classic country (Patsy Cline, Eddie Arnold, etc.). She loved decorating her apartment for holidays, and had a collection of figurines for Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving.
She was a devout Catholic, attended mass and prayed regularly, and received Holy Communion on her last day.
Julia’s working life was varied and included tallying votes for old-time radio’s Morris B. Sachs Amateur Hour, managing property for an apartment complex, assisting at a beauty shop, and working as a librarian at the Chicago Heights Public Library.

Her ashes are interred at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home 8178 Cline Ave, PO Box 109, Schererville, Indiana.
