Kenneth “Kenny” R. Aeschlimann, 77, of Park City, Illinois, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 24, 2023. He was born in Monroe, Wisconsin in 1945 but lived most of his life in Waukegan and Park City.
Kenny married his forever love, Paula, in 1965. Less than a year later, he was drafted into the army where he trained as a cook. He was proud of his military service. Upon discharge, he worked for a time at National Gypsum. After that he was employed at Print-O-Tape for several years until health issues forced him to leave work early because of disability.
During years of good health, he enjoyed gardening, bowling on a work league with Paula, and going on many fishing trips with Paula’s parents in Wisconsin and Minnesota. They were co-owners of two cabins that they rented out in Sayner, Wisconsin. They had fun on trips to Hawaii and guided tours to Las Vegas, Branson, and Cape May for casinos and sightseeing.
Kenny had been a member of the Moose, the Steelworkers, and Gurnee Park District Seniors, enjoying the monthly luncheons and entertainment. He loved country music, wrestling, and all things Packers.
Kenny is survived by nieces Barb (Johnny), Lola, Allie (Rob), Caitie, Susan (David), and Tina; nephew Monte; great nieces and nephews; a great-great nephew; and sister-in-law Debbie. He was preceded in death by his parents Edwin and Lola, brother Robert, sister Bertha, nephew Raymond, and his loving wife of 52 years, Paula. Since her passing, he has been waiting to join her. Kenny’s “village” also included wonderful neighbors that became like family: Elnora, Martin and Maria (and their children), Tracy, Chance, Carrington, and Carole.
If you would like to make a donation in his memory, please direct any contributions to the Pulmonary Hypertension Association (phassociation.org).
