Lori was a fun-loving and dedicated mother to her children and a devoted wife to her husband. Lori's family extends far beyond a bloodline; it includes everyone with whom she shared her passion for life; and for some, deeply. Lori's smile that welcomed so many, and heart that embraced so many, are what brings us to this time of celebration- a celebration of life lived sharing fun and love.
Lori first faced breast cancer in 2004 and then again in late 2009. She vowed and succeeded to fight this terrible disease with strength, courage, and inspiration. Lori's faith in God was challenged, but never shaken. She was called home on February 2, 2011, leaving a legacy of love, joy, peace, and hope. The lessons that she taught her entire family run deep. Lori will be terribly missed, but never will she be forgotten.
Lori is survived by Michael, her loving husband of 28 years, her sons Drew and Nick, and her daughters, Sara and Katelyn. She is also survived by her father, Lyle R. Nelson, her mother, Sheila Nelson, her sister, Sherry Mepham, and her brother, Lyle R.C. Nelson, all of whom reside in St. Louis, Michigan.
Visitation and funeral services will be held at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 Cemetery Rd., Gurnee, Illinois. Visitation will be on Monday, February 7th from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
