

She was born on November 1, 1940, in President Roxas City, Philippines, to Gonzalo and Marciana Relayson. Nelita pursued her passion for education, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of the Philippines and later her Master’s degree while teaching for over 20 years with the Chicago Board of Education, including at Swift.
On July 14, 1963, she married her beloved husband, Loreto Piansay, in the Philippines. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and hard work, and later owned and operated TLC Realty in Northern Illinois for over 20 years, where Nelita served as Broker/Owner.
Nelita was a devoted member of Our Lady of Humility, now St. Brigid Parish – Church of St. Patrick, where she was actively involved in the church community and served as a Eucharistic minister. She had a deep love for her culture and found joy in sharing it through Filipino cultural dancing, as well as participating in line dancing. She was known for her strong faith, warm and caring presence, and her deep devotion to her family. She will be remembered as a nurturing, resilient, and family-first woman who took great care of those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Loreto; her brothers, Leonardo Relayson, Onelo Relayson, Leno Relayson, and Edgar Relayson; and her sister, Neva R. Margarico.
Nelita is survived by her son, Argyll Piansay; her grandsons, Nicholas and Ian; and her beloved four-legged companion, Jack.
A visitation for Nelita will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N. Cemetery Road, Gurnee, IL. A second visitation will be held on Monday, March 30, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Brigid Parish – Church of St. Patrick, 15000 W. Wadsworth Road, Wadsworth, IL. Interment will follow at Ascension Catholic Cemetery in Libertyville.
