Peter A. Lentine

Peter Alan Lentine, 78, passed away on the 24 of February, 2013 at his home, in Gurnee, IL after a 12 year courageous battle with leukemia. He was born on November 19, 1934 in Waukegan, IL to Dominick and Anna (Zarlinga) Lentine. Pete grew up in Waukegan, IL. and graduated from Waukegan Township High School. After high school he served in the United States Marine Corp for 3 years. He fought in the Korean War and was honorably discharged in 1956, achieving the rank of Sergeant. He retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Co. after nearly 30 years of service. Pete was elected to serve as a Waukegan City Alderman for 12 years. Pete married Cassandra Stone in 1987 in Waukegan, IL. They were happily married for 25 years. Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Anna and Dominick Lentine, and his brother, Joseph, and a grandson, John Michael Walczak Jr. Pete is survived by his spouse, Cassandra of Gurnee, IL; his son, Perry Lentine (Heather Mason) of Danville, CA; daughters, Juliann May of McHenry, IL, Gina Lentine of Waukegan, IL, Lisa (John) Walczak of Wadsworth, IL., Rhonda (Bob) Naylor of Lindenhurst, Christie (Pete) Commons of Lake Villa, IL, Lori (Jim) Volpentesta of Bartlett, IL; brother, William (Patricia) Lentine of Orlando, FL; sister, Linda (David) DeRue of Lake Villa, IL; sisters-in-law, Renea (Bill) Wiley of Phoenix, AZ, Resha (Doug) Ballance of Chandler AZ. He very much loved all of his 12 grandchildren and 2 great-granddaughters. A visitation will be held at Marsh Funeral Home 305 N. Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, IL 60031 at 9:30AM on Thursday February 28th. Followed immediately by a memorial service at 11:30AM at the same location. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations be made to Midwest Palliative & Hospice Care Center. 904B S.
