Roger Dale Wilcox

Roger D. Wilcox, age 79, of Gurnee, Illinois passed away on Tuesday, July 25th, 2023 at his home surrounded by those who loved him. He was born on September 24,1943 in Cowan, Tennessee and moved to Chicago with his family in 1955. Roger attended Robert A. Waller High School in Lincoln Park. He was a Tool and Die Maker by trade and worked for 44 years at Kay Home products (formerly Quaker Industries) retiring in 2016. Roger dedicated himself to his family, and enjoyed traveling with family and friends, often going to compete in the sports he loved (bowling and trap shooting). He was often seen with a grandchild or dog in his lap, and loved spending time with his family and friends.

Roger is survived by his wife and partner of 45 years, Kathleen; two children from his first marriage, Lisa (Stephen) Odden and Jeff (Kelly) Wilcox; six grandchildren, Courtney, Quinn, Ryan, Ronan, Finley, and Cullen, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Mary Ellen (Barnes) Wilcox; two brothers, James and William Wilcox and sister, Elizabeth Gallagher.

Friends and family will gather for a visitation for Roger that will be held Saturday, August 5th, 2023 at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 North Cemetery Road, Gurnee, Illinois 60031 beginning at 11:00 am followed by a Memorial Service at 2:00 P.M.
