Born on March 17, 1932, to Mabel and Louis Bunsen, Ruby was raised on the family’s dairy farm, where she developed her lifelong values of hard work, kindness, and compassion. Growing up alongside her siblings—Viola, Grade, Pearly, Glen, and Paul—she learned the importance of family and community, values she carried throughout her life.
Ruby married the love of her life, Mike Bodame, and together they created a warm and welcoming home. Family was always at the center of Ruby’s world. She is survived by her devoted son, John Bodame, and his wife, Catherine (Arnold) Bodame; her beloved grandchildren and spouses—Patrick and Amber (Dolence) Bodame, Mike and Kelly (Wanak) Bodame, and Margaret (Bodame) and Jon Logan—as well as her six cherished great-grandchildren: Mason, Bryce, Payton, Myles, Ruby, and Olive. She took immense pride in her family and treasured every moment spent with them.
Known for her gentle spirit and boundless generosity, Ruby had a remarkable way of making everyone feel valued and cared for. Whether it was offering a helping hand, sharing a kind word, or preparing a meal for someone in need, she gave of herself without hesitation. Her warmth and kindness touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and all of her siblings, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and quiet strength.
Ruby will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her family and friends will carry forward the lessons she taught them—love one another, work hard, and always be kind.
