Sophie Mardoian, age 82, passed away August 8, 2013 in Glenview, Illinois. She was born in Racine, Wisconsin on December 2, 1930. Sophie is survived by her son, Paul D. Mardoian (Susan) and daughter Brenda M. Sorensen; grandchildren, Rachel, Melissa, Natalie, Kristina, and Leif; sister, Alice Poladian (late Jim) and brother, Joe Yahnian (Shakeh); and many close family members. Preceded in death by her husband Ben Mardoian. Visitation will be held Sunday August 11, 2013 from 3-8:30pm at Marsh Funeral Home of Gurnee with a Dangark Service at 7:30pm. Family and friends will gather Monday August 12, 2013 from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 10am at St. George Armenian Church 1015 McAree Rd. Waukegan. Burial at Northshore Garden of Memories Cemetery in North Chicago. In lieu of flowers contributions to St. George Armenian Church would be appreciated.
