Ted was born in Philadelphia, PA on February 19, 1962. He attended Olney High School in Philadelphia and graduated in 1980. Ted went on to marry Annie Ruth Jones in 1987. He served in the Air Force from 1982 until 1992, serving his country in the Gulf War. Upon being honorably discharged from the military, he then began a career within air traffic control maintenance with the FAA. He was most recently a NAS Operations Air Traffic Control Manager, and was set to retire next year. He had an astounding 40 years of service. After his wife Annie Ruth passed away, he once again found love and married Carolyn Toatley in 2012.
Ted was an avid comic book collector, a diehard Marvel, DC, and Star Trek fan, and loved going to the movies any chance he got. He also was a beautiful artist and spent time using oil pastels to create beautiful natural landscapes. Ted’s goofy antics, infectious laugh and smile will surely be missed and will live in all of hearts until we meet again!
Ted was a beloved family man and his entire family, especially his children and grandchildren, meant the world to him. He was always a provider and was just one phone call away if you ever needed help. He will be missed dearly.
Ted is preceded in death by his father, Theodore Guy Sr.; first wife, Annie Ruth Guy; and his second wife, Carolyn Toatley-Guy.
He is survived by his mother, Joann Guy; his children Jo’Anna Guy-Powell (April), Theodore Guy III, Quentin Bourne, Brandon Toatley (Pippa), Briana Toatley, and Alaina Toatley; his brothers Michael and Ricky Guy; his sister Sandra Guy; and five grandchildren, Ashton Reilley, Jaydon Toatley, Elijah Guy-Powell, Zariah Bourne, Zaria Bourne.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.MarshFuneralHome.com for the Guy family.
