William Reinwald

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, September 6th from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Marsh Funeral Home, 305 N Cemetery Rd, Gurnee, with a time for sharing at 3:30 PM.

Bill was born on July 13, 1943 in Evanston, IL to Andrew and Kathleen (Miller) Reinwald. He grew up in Skokie and attended New Trier East High School. After graduating in 1961, he attended the American Academy of Art in Chicago, where he developed his fine art skills. He also served in the army reserves as a military police officer for 6 years.

In 1966, he married his high school sweetheart Linda Skerven. They raised their family in Glenview and Gurnee. Bill had a successful art career, working as an art director in the field of medical advertising.

Bill enjoyed spending time gardening. He had the spirit of a farmer and loved all animals. He found joy in painting, antiquing, and Chicago Cubs baseball.

Bill is survived by his wife of 59 years, Linda Reinwald; children Beth (Greg) Mumbower, Adam Reinwald, Aaron Reinwald, and Lenny Samczyk; grandchildren Samantha, Cameron, Connor, Nathan, and Ella; siblings Steven (the late Judy) Reinwald, Robert (Sandy) Reinwald, and Kathy (George) Lillig; sister-in-law Connie (the late Tony) Reinwald; and many adored nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew and Kathleen Reinwald; siblings Tony Reinwald and Larry Reinwald.

Bill was a loving and compassionate artist, husband, father, and friend whose kindness impacted everyone he met.
