Alan's academic journey led him to Penn State University, where he graduated in 1968 and cultivated a lifelong enthusiasm for his alma mater. He later earned a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers University.
At the age of 17, Alan met Roberta Hornstein, marking the beginning of a lifelong romance. They married on November 29, 1969, and were blessed with two children, Dana and Brian. The family settled in East Brunswick, NJ.
Alan's interests were diverse; he had a passion for electronics, a curiosity about the universe, and was an exceptional amateur photographer. He cherished family gatherings, often capturing these moments with his camera.
Family was the cornerstone of Alan's life. He was a devoted husband to Roberta and a loving father to Brian, who married Deborah (Fass), and Dana, who married Jason Gold. Alan adored his five grandchildren: Mia, Jacob, Tyler, Milo, and Isla. His legacy of love and learning endures in each of them.
