BDE. Our Dearest David, an Uber Mensch. There are numerous memories O have of Dear David. David was ALWAYS there for anything you knew you needed and he sensed and was there for you when you didn't even realize you needed assistance.
You, his Dear Family may be comforted knowing  David instilled upon you the greatest value Hashem  upholds; taking care of your fellow Jew.

May he rest in peace, may his spirit live on, may his family and friends find comfort,  and may the collective memories remind us of all the Naches and Simcha he brought into our lives. He will be missed deeply.

Before David's first visit to our pre-K Hadas classroom, we prepared by exploring the value of *hachnassat orchim*, the mitzvah of welcoming guests. We shared the story of Abraham, who eagerly welcomed visitors , offering them food, drink, and rest with open hands and hearts. The children delighted in discussing what it means to make someone feel truly welcome. They came up with their own thoughtful ideas: greeting our guest with smiles, offering a special seat, listening attentively, and sharing their favorite things.  

When David arrived that first Tuesday, the children put their ideas into action with enthusiasm. They greeted him, proudly showed to a specially made space for him in their circle. They listened as he read, eager to show him that his visit mattered. It was a beautiful moment of *hachnassat orchim* in action, a classroom embodying Abraham’s lessons of hospitality and David’s lessons of “achdoot”,  brotherhood. Remembering it now brings tears… 

As time went on, David became more than a guest. Though we continued to honor and celebrate him, his warmth and steady presence transformed him into part of our Hadas-family. His grandfatherly presence, his weekly visits became a cornerstone of our classroom rhythm, a gift we cherished deeply.  

In welcoming David, the children not only learned about *hachnassat orchim* and “achdoot,” they lived it, creating a bond that exemplified the joy and connection that come from an open heart. Truly, he taught us much about kindness and love through his example. 

David’s impact extended beyond the books he read. He was a star in  the community, a person whose love for children and dedication to nurturing young minds will be remembered always. I pray that his legacy will be a source of comfort and blessing to all who had the privilege of knowing him. I will always remember him this way. May his memory inspire us to continue spreading the kindness,  joy  and brotherhood he brought to the world.
