FAIR LAWN – Evelyn P. Klein-Schwartz, 87, of Fair Lawn, passed away Friday, May 17, 2024 peacefully at home. Evelyn, known to her family as “Granny” is survived by daughters Patti (Bryan) Lakin and Amy (Steven) Sabin, grandchildren Tyler (Kimberly) Lakin, Nicole Lakin, Kyle Sabin, Samantha (Michael) Abbondondolo, great-granddaughter Daphne Virginia Lakin, and grand-pups Putter and Afton. She was a loving aunt and very close to her nieces, Debra Klein Kennedy and Randi Klein.
Granny’s greatest joy in life was spending time with her grandchildren and she was so happy to have lived long enough to meet and hold her great-granddaughter. She loved hearing their stories of life now that they are adults, from their work, or travel, or events they attended. Granny loved planning, hosting, and attending family events and holiday parties, continuing to host her Hanukkah party even until this past year. She will be missed by all her loved ones. The family will receive visitors during the Shiva period at Evelyn’s home in Fair Lawn from Sunday, May 19th through Thursday, May 23rd from 2-8:30pm.
