Dr. Steinfeld you just came to mind, thank you very much. I will never forget you and what you did for my son Calvin. Also thanking your family for sharing you.

I am so sad to hear of the passing of Dr. Steinfeld. I met him in 1968 when my son was diagnosed with a ventricular septal defect.  Dr. Steinfeld cared for him like he was his own and was there when he had open heart surgery in 1973. We last saw him when my son who will be 46 next month was in his early twenties and the Dr. walked him around showing him off to everyone who remembered him. My son by then was taller than him. God Bless his family and may he rest in peace.  He was a Great Man!

I might have the honor of being treated by Dr. Steinfeld the longest of all his patients, 47 years. At my wedding the second greatest joy of the day was having Dr. and Mrs. Steinfeld attend.

i just learned of his death, and am saddened by the news.  Doctor Steinfeld took me in at the age of 21 and i was in his great care for 27 years.  My family and I were all so fond of him; a Great Man!  As the years past and each time i visited him, he recalled every single detail of my history and always had my best interest at heart. I was shocked to hear such sad news. The doctor that new me befor i was born, the savior of my mother (pattijo) life. He was wonderfull loving man, who we both saw regularly till and after the retired. He will be missed not only by my family but by hundreds of other familys, thanks for ur love.

When I was 12, Dr. Stienfeld was the one who diagnosed me with Rheumatic Fever and was the one broke the news to my mom. I am ever grateful to you, Doctor,for saving my life and helping me live to be the person that I am today... You will be missed very much by me and my family, thank for having existed on the planet, you were an amazing man. I am so sad to hear of you're passing. You're memory will be part of my heart for ever... Thank you.

I was so sad to hear this news. Some 30 years after he saved my life and gave my parents the news they needed to hear ("don't worry, I'll be dancing at her wedding"), he and Barbara were indeed dancing at my wedding, and started a renewed friendship with my family that meant a lot. He will be missed.

I still think of him, and the many fond memories we had.

Had Uncle Lenny not chosen the medical profession, he would have had an almost equal impact on people's lives as a stand-up comedian. Over the decades, whether it was for the Passover seder or just a casual visit, Uncle Lenny always greeted me with a one-liner and would keep them coming throughout the night. Perhaps he understood better than most that laughter is the best medicine. He'll be missed.

Dear Mrs. Steinfeld and family;

Some years ago, when our now 42 year old son was age 18 and a "star" of his team basketball player, he had chest pains one day, was taken to a New Jersey hospital ... kept overnight for tests ... and diagnosed with a non-threatening but real problem with his heart. He was told, "No more basketball." He was devastated as well as frightened ... and so were we..  Our next door neighbor, Lois Colville, heard of this the evening he came home from the hospital, and she called Dr. Steinfeld at home immediately. 
 I spoke with him over the phone at that time, and Dr. Steinfeld said that he would see our son the very next day. He reversed the original diagnosis, and reassured our son that he was OK .. and told him to go ahead and play basketball again.  His gentle understanding as well as his professional expertise was so healing; we trusted him and knew that whatever HE said, was accurate; we had rarely met a more compassionate, tender physician. With all his accolades and professional reputation, his humility spoke volumes to us .. and we will never forget him. This is a very "small story" compared to the amazing work Dr. Steinfeld did in his lifetime ... but our son and we felt such gratitude to him then  - and our respect (and reverence) stays with us to this day. His presence was professional and personal; this man cared deeply for the ones in his care.  . It was only recently that we learned of his death. May this beloved healer and dedicated servant be forever at peace. He was a blessing and gift for which we are so thankful. Our condolences to the entire family... During the few short years that I came to know Len I thought of him and his lovely Barbara as special role models for parents & grandparents. He was also a guide to graceful enjoyment of our senior years. I am fond of my years as a Bronx NY youngster and it was enjoyable to share those memories with Len. My condolences to the family.

None of us will ever forget him. He always had a smile and a few facts to give us.

Mrs. Steinfeld, Our heartfelt condolences to you and the family for your loss.  Dr. Steinfeld was an exceptional man and doctor. He was my cardiologist from 11 to 38 yrs old, I am 40 now.  He went through a lot with my family and I.  Dr. Steinfeld was caring, loving and empathetic. I am proud to have known him. I will always remember his words of wisdom reminding me that I am here for a reason. He said ordinary would never do for an extraordinary person.  He challenged me to make my mark in the world. In his memory, I will continue to do that. I will always treasure seeing the two of you at my wedding. I feel so blessed that both of us were there to participate in such a sacred moment.  We will pray for your strength during this time of sorrow and we will miss him dearly.

My cousin Leonard will be missed in so many ways---his lifetime as a pediatric cartiologist,  his warm, friendly personality, his concern for Barbara, his children and grandchildren, his generosity, his humor and his love of tennis.

Dr. Steinfeld was a brilliant and wonderful doctor and person. He saved my sister's life not once..but twice. 
When my baby was thought to have heart problems...we knew there was only one person that could help. 
For my family, nothing would be ok..unless Dr. Steinfeld said it would be ok.
I thank his family for sharing such a wonderful man with my family.
