

Mr. Zunz was born and raised in Hudson County, NJ. He lived for many years in Teaneck, NJ and moved 20 years ago to Fort Lee, NJ. He also spent much of his time in his cherished second home in Stockbridge, MA.
He was married to his late wife, Sylvia, for 58 years. He is survived by his loving daughters, Sharyn Zunz of Durham, NH and Gail Zunz of Lexington, MA; and his beloved partner of 10 years, Rosalind Mann.
He was senior counsel and a past partner for Black Rome LLP Counselors at Law in NY. He attended NYU and Columbia University Law School where he was on Law Review. Lyonel was loved by all who knew him for his concern for others, sense of humor and support of many philanthropic causes. He was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Community School in Teaneck, NJ whose mission is to meet the educational needs of learning disabled children. His 45 years of service to the school was recognized when their Community High School was named in his honor. Concern for the health and well-being of others was paramount to Lyonel. He supported numerous programs at the New York- Presbyterian Hospital as well as many other health-related charities.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday at Gutterman and Musicant Funeral Home, 402 Park Street, Hackensack, NJ (201-489-3800).
Interment to follow at Cedar Park Cemetery, Paramus, NJ.
Following the interment, family and friends are invited to the Zunz home at 1500 Palisade Avenue, 12C, Fort Lee, NJ. Shiva may be observed on Thursday evening 7:00-9:00 and Friday from 11:00-4:00.
