A graduate of Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn, Marilyn started her professional career as a dental hygienist. While raising her three daughters she received a degree in English and Journalism from Fairleigh Dickinson University and was the first professional hired when the New Jersey Film and Television Commission was formed, in that capacity she organized the Commission's extensive files on locations, which are still used today and have made New Jersey a favored locale by film and television production companies. Marilyn later worked as a literary publicist with Solters, Roskin & Friedman where she specialized in representing authors and magazines. A life-long learner, she again went back to school, completing studies at Fordham University in Gerontology and wrote a weekly column on aging for The Record of New Jersey for many years. Upon retirement she devoted herself to her children and grandchildren. Marilyn was passionate about theater, dance, museums and all other arts. She was an avid reader and an expert Scrabble player.
