I was so saddened to hear of Mark's passing. He represented me on a  child services case. He was kind, compansionate and  a  real gentleman. 
May he rest in peace. He is a special angel.

I’m so saddened about the passing of Mark. I was his hairstylist. I admired his bravery and his positive attitude always towards life despite his battle. I will miss him. He was a great client and was always a pleasure having him in my chair. Not many like Mark. RIP.

Mark was asked to take on a pro bono case once years ago. Afterward, he just kept helping. Mark was honored last spring for the countless hours he spent volunteering pro bono for Legal Services of Northwest Jersey. The award was presented to Mark at Legal Services of New Jersey's Equal Justice Awards Reception in June. His friends, colleagues, and clients at LSNWJ will miss Mark very much.

So a little story if you will indulge me.  A young man from the deep north country of upstate New York, who’s parents lived through the heart of the depression meets a kid from Brooklyn who’s parents lived through the holocaust, his mom still had the numbers tattooed on her arm from one of the camps.  He was the first Jewish person I’ve really known.  We become roommates freshman year; friends and co-conspirators in the revelry of life experience in the early 70s.  Basketball, parties, water fights, buck-buck on the quad and general mayhem that accompanies life in college.  Visiting each other’s homes in awe of how different our lives were before we met.

We attend grad school together and work together for a while before going our separate career and geographical ways.  But we never parted.  Around the occasional visits, we talked weekly, sometimes more often, solving the problems of the world and congratulating ourselves on our collective wisdom, discussions often infused by bourbon. We lost friends, celebrated bar mitzvahs, and promotions.  He is the officiant at our only child’s wedding, calling me daily to tell me how nervous he was but predictably pulling it off magnificently.

Mark, the “Bear” was an amazing guy.  Incredibly smart and diligent, a highly accomplished and focused lawyer.  He had a charisma about him. People who barely knew him often asked about him.  He was a complex person, multi-layered and often difficult to get to.  He was generous to a fault but not good at accepting others generosity. He had his own way of getting through the world. 

He was my friend in the truest sense of that word.  He was a better person than I, but no matter.  He made me a better person.  He left this world in his own way, which should surprise no one.  The world is a less inviting place that it was a few days ago.  A toast, bourbon of course, to you my dear friend.  


We are so very sad to learn of Mark’s passing.  He was an incredibly authentic person, a kind individual who put others before himself - we have been blessed to call him our friend.  David and I will miss him terribly. 


While Mark was a fierce advocate and an incredible lawyer- what made him Mark was his enormous  heart and his endless generosity.   He was rarely without a smile or a kind word. During our last case together it was a running joke who would email the earliest in the morning and the one time I did- he called to say “you got me”.   He touched so many and will be terribly missed. Rest In Peace. 

Mark was a friend, a mentor, a leader, an incredible lawyer, and one of the most genuine people you could ever hope to meet.  I will miss his perspective, his advice, his humor and his 4am emails.  He left us all better for having known him.  You will be dearly missed my friend.  

Mark was so much more than a great attorney.  My condolences to his family, friends and colleagues at EB.  Mark, you truly will be missed by all.  Rest In Peace my friend.

Word of Mark’s passing is heartbreaking. I had the honor of working with Mark at Einhorn for 15 years. Mark was a remarkable person and attorney. His contributions to the profession,  the Bar Association as a leader, and his firm were immeasurable.  As a colleague, Mark shared his skill, experience and knowledge freely. I will never forget his professional and personal generosity, always making himself available to discuss legal issues (and taking time to ask about my children, who fondly refer to him as “Mr. Mark”). Mark will be sorely missed.

So saddened by the loss of this amazing person. I am so grateful to have known him. I remember the first time I walked into Einhorn at a shockingly early hour only to learn Mark had been there for hours! We had great conversations and my respect for him is beyond immense. He will be missed by so many. My thoughts are with you all. 


I am heartbroken to learn of Mark’s passing. His gigantic smile was an easy gift for him to give to all of his friends & family & he will be forever missed.  Working with him ever since moving to NJ left me in constant amazement of his intellect & abilities.  Your loss  will be felt by all who were lucky enough to know you. RIP, my friend.

I was in court with Mark for his last court appearance. After a lengthy and hard fought motion Mark looked at me and smiled. He said “How did I do?”  I said “Mark you were  great.” He was great and he will be missed.

Rest In Peace Mark. You were one of the most respectful and kind man. Condolences to the family. 

Mark was a fierce adversary, tenacious, always prepared, smart as a whip. Many lawyers have these attributes. What distinguished him from the pack was his integrity. He was honest. He made me laugh- a lot. I trusted him. He trusted me.  At the end of the day what else is there? 
The legal community is diminished because of his loss and  I will mourn his  friendship. To his family and to his firm, know that you have my deepest sympathy.

My heart breaks for our loss of Mark. He was a gentle giant. Brilliant and funny and kind. I, too, will miss his early bird emails and  his unwavering support and kindness. What I will remember most is not only our friendship, but also how kind he was to my daughter. We were on a bar trip in Paris and we spent the day together travelling to Normandy beach. He was so concerned about her and making sure she was comfortable and happy -- even taking her outside of the beautiful castle where we were having lunch, to play chess with her on a life sized chess board.  Mark was hopping around the board moving pieces to make her happy and to keep her engaged. Mark truly cared. He was authentic and genuine. If he was your friend, you knew it and you felt it. He was immensely loyal. He will be deeply missed. We have lost a great and irreplaceable man. My sincerest condolences to his family, his loved ones and his firm. xxoo

I am devastated by the passing of my friend, Mark Wechsler.  I first met Mark in early 1999 when I interviewed for the firm. After my interview, I had the opportunity to meet Mark to discuss "what it was like to be  an associate at the firm."  We became instant friends from that moment on. I will forever dearly miss his quick wit, intelligence, humor,  warmth, protectiveness, mentorship, and his overriding humanity.  Rest in Peace, my friend, until we meet again. 

Mark was a friend and colleague . I could not be more sad to hear of his passing. He is a real loss to the Family Bar and to the dying spirit of collegiality and friendliness among fellow Family practitioners. I will miss his always smiling face and ebullient positive attitude. My condolences to Mark's family.  Mark was a zealous advocate for his clients and a well respected member of the legal community.   His contributions to the Morris County Bar Association and our community will always be remembered.  

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mark’s passing.  He was my attorney for three years and helped me through a terrible time . He went above and beyond for me during my case. When it was over he hosted a celebratory dinner for me with his team. I will never forget all the things he did for me and will surely miss his friendship and positive energies. Mark was kind, decent, insightful and selfless, with a smile that would light up the room.  Mark's first question when he saw you was always how are you and how is your family.  And he meant it - he wanted to know the answer.  He was a lawyer's lawyer for sure.  But as good of a lawyer as he was, he was a better friend.   He will be deeply and profoundly missed.  

I was shocked to hear of Mark’s passing.  I worked with him at E & H for many years.  He was a kind, caring and compassionate gentleman, always having a smile, and a kind word. I cannot find the words to express the depths of my sadness that my dear friend “The Bear” -- as some of us have lovingly called him since our days in college -- has passed. I am deeply saddened to hear of Mark's passing.  Professionally, he was brilliant, extraordinarily skilled, and generous with his time and expertise to me as a new attorney.  Personally, he was deeply caring, empathic and considerate.  His death is a loss to all who had the pleasure and honor of knowing him.

I am beyond shocked at the loss of my very good friend.  Only a few months ago we talked about having dinner once he was feeling better. Mark and I were fierce adversaries in a contentious case we tried over dozens of days before Judge DeMarzo several years ago.  It was my first trial with Mark and I learned very quickly not to take anything for granted with Mark.  He was an amazing  trial attorney.  Outside of court he was a gentle giant, kind, generous and caring.  As a result of that case we developed an enduring friendship that I will forever cherish. It is so sad to lose him at this young age.

To Mark's family, friends and legal colleagues, please accept my deepest sympathy. Mark was not only a superb attorney but he was a sensitive, thoughtful man. We are all diminished by the loss of his considerable talents and even more by the loss of his uncommon humanity.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to learn of Mark’s death. He was a tough adversary but also a good friend. I once spoke to him in my car on speaker phone about a very contentious case we had together when my mother was in the car. I told him she was there and he spoke to her. They had a very long and interesting conversation. He was so gracious and complementary my mother never forgot him and always asked “ how is that nice lawyer friend of yours.” I really appreciated that about Mark. I expected him just to say hello. Instead he took time to ask about my mother and make her feel special. The practice of law will not be the same without him and I will miss him greatly.

This is very sad to learn.. Mark was always a pleasure to have him in my Courtroom and to work with as an adversary.  He was a true gentleman and will be sorely missed.

I am deeply saddened to learn of Mark's passing.  He was smart, funny, loyal and incredibly hard working.    As a lawyer, he was a fearless advocate but also deeply principled and professional.   We have lost a thoroughly decent and honorable friend and colleague.  I will miss him.  

I had the pleasure of knowing Mark for nearly 15 years, and he quickly impressed me on our first encounter as the epitome of a professional, a most effective advocate, and most of  all, a good man.   Mark seemed to manage the impossible, maintaining composure in the most challenging situations, and always keeping a clear head, a civil tongue, and a laser-like focus, no matter the issue or task at hand.    Over the years, Mark always went out of his way to say hello, and he was blessed with a manner and voice that was ---and is---the envy of all who know him.    I will remember Mark's personality as the most beautiful balance of intelligence, wit, perfect timing, compassion, effective advocacy and professionalism.  And kindness, above all else.  Whenever I saw Mark at a function, on the street, or in the courtroom, I would feel blessed that he was there.   I will miss Mark very much, and offer sincere condolences to his family, his many friends and fans, and all of his colleagues in his firm and in the law.   We have a lost a huge jewel of a man, and we all know it.

Mark was truly an excellent attorney: zealous and meticulously prepared adversary; a gracious colleague with great humanity and a sense of humor. His early passing is a loss.

I am so sorry to hear of Mark's passing.  Our legal community has lost a true advocate with a brilliant legal mind.  I will miss working with him on Morris County Bar Association events, his emails that he routinely sent at 5:00 a.m., his love of travel and hearing about his plans for his next trip, his love of cooking and hearing about the latest recipe he tried out, meeting him for dinner to laugh and talk, and his famous cheesecake.   Most of all, I will miss his smile and friendship, but he will continue to live on in our hearts.

I worked with Mark when the law firm was Einhorn, Harris,  et al.  He was always smiling and was very patient and kind to me .  Condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.

I am deeply saddened to hear of Mark's passing. He was and will be remembered as a consummate professional and gentleman with whom I have had the pleasure of working with since the beginning of his career.  My deepest condolences to his family.  He will be missed!

Mark was a wonderful guy. I'll miss our lunches and laughs, but most of all your friendship. 

Mark was an outstanding leader of the Morris County Bar Association culminating in his presidency.  It was my pleasure to work with him as a trustee for several years.  May his memory always be a blessing.

Mark was a worthy adversary of the highest professional manner, but of more significance was his sincere care and concern for not only his clients but for attorneys and friends. A great man who will be missed by all.
