Otto Heinz Berger, 96, of Hillsdale, NJ passed away peacefully at Van Dyk Manor Care Center in Ridgewood, NJ on Monday, July 14, 2014. Mr. Berger was born in 1918 to Ernest and Hilda Berger in Berlin, Germany. He escaped Berlin in 1941 to reside in Ecuador for five years before moving to New York City where he met his wife Margot. Together they moved to New Jersey where Mr. Berger owned and operated ABC Glass and Mirror Company in Westwood. He also taught ballroom and line dancing in various Pascack Valley high schools and adult schools.
Mr. Berger was the beloved husband of Margot Berger; loving father of June Beard and her husband Jeff of Galesville, MD, and Edward Berger and his wife Marcy of Bethesda, MD; devoted grandfather of Raphaelle and Valerie Beard and Andrew and Sasha Berger.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Gutterman-Musicant Jewish Funeral Directors, 402 Park St., Hackensack, NJ 07601.
