Raised in Englewood, NJ, Paul’s life took him many places – as a college student in Florida, a respiratory technician in Arizona, an army soldier in Germany and various positions in Maryland and Virginia. With his big heart, he became active in the recovery community, serving in various roles over his 29 years. No matter his circumstances, when Paul made a commitment, he showed up. He always had a welcoming manner, a mischievous smile, willingness to listen, and experience to share.
Paul frequented a local diner, where Helen and her fellow workers became another of Paul’s meaningful extended families. “The diner seems empty without him,” and the dog treats he always carried will be missed by his 4-legged friends.
Paul is survived by his sister, Peggy (Stuart) Schneider, his nephew Benjamin (Eva Wingren) Schneider, his niece Rebecca (Brian Kaplan) Schneider and his two loving cats, Bonnie & Clyde.
A service will be held on Tuesday, October 8th at the Sanctuary of Abraham and Sarah in Paramus, NJ. The Gutterman and Musicant website has information.
