
Robert Joesph Brite died at his home in Rockaway, New Jersey on June 12th with his daughter Leslie and caretaker Yvonne at his side. He is survived by his daughters Linda and Leslie and sons Ian and Paul as well as his 7 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Estelle whom he met when he was a pin-setter and she was making egg creams at Boston Road Lanes in the Bronx.
Robert was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School in NYC and completed his education at the RCA Institute. He went on to teach Radar for the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict and electronics for the Job Corps in the 1960’s. He was a technical writer for ITT/Avionics for over 25 years and past chairman of the Society of Technical Writers and Publishers of New York. He coauthored a series of books on electronics and was the author of the book "Synchros and Servos"

He served his community of Ridgefield, New Jersey as councilman and President of the Board of Education.
He loved tennis, golf and bowling. In his prime he carried and a 185 average and later won several bowling medals at the Senior Games. He also loved Jazz, Broadway Show tunes, Classical and Latin music. Poker and pool kept him busy during his later years. He enjoyed cross word puzzles, Scrabble, acting and singing with his friends at the clubhouse and scored the lead role in at least 1 production. He was also very fond of playing his harmonica while waiting at red lights although his “audience” was not so pleased.
On his last day, he listened to classical music and a vintage Jean Shepard radio episode. He passed away peacefully in his sleep.
