Passionate, intelligent, curious, funny, feisty, brave, powerful… these are just some of the words that come to mind when family and friends of Shelley’s gather and start sharing stories and reminiscing of conversations and adventures and, of course, lively (sometimes heated!) debates held throughout the years with Shell. She was definitely a “go big or go home” kinda girl and made a great impact on everyone who met her.
Shelley received her Masters, Counseling from the University of Pittsburgh, and was proud of her many personal and professional accomplishments. She loved being an Executive Coach and adored her friends, colleagues, clients, and the team she helped build at PricewaterhouseCoopers, where she was actively employed. She also had many close relationships with the friends, associates, and clients she worked with during her years at Lee Hecht Harrison as a Master Coach as well as the special friendships she developed when she was the Advertising Media Director at Charles Schwab back in the early years of her career.
Shelley was daring. After spending her childhood in Harrisburg PA surrounded by her large, loving, and colorful extended family, she picked up and moved to San Francisco and lived there for 20+ years. During her West Coast time, Shelley found many wonderful friends and was able to spend a lot of time with her brother Brian, his wife Joan, and her first niece, Jessica, whom she adored. Shelley then moved back to the East Coast for the past 20+ years and again built a special, powerful friend group as well as got to spend a great deal of time with her brother Michael, his wife Cindy (who adored Shelley!), and their twins Julianna and Jonathan. Shelley was more than an Aunt to Jessica, Julianna, and Jonathan. She was a confidante, friend, partner-in-crime, and influence (good and bad – just how many shoes can one person need?!). Shelley was an avid reader, a pizza aficionado, loved to travel, enjoyed true crime programs, and appreciated a cold shot of tequila and a tasty cocktail. Shelley was fun, loved, and will be missed.
Shelley is survived and cherished by her brother Michael and sister-in-law Cindy (Alecci) Abramson and their children Julianna and Jonathan, and by her brother Brian and sister-in-law Joan (Shapiro) Abramson and their daughter Jessica. Shelley was also happy to have found love these past few years with her boyfriend Yonah Rabbenou, who cherished her as well. Shelley is also survived and celebrated by her many, many dear cousins and friends and colleagues and neighbors. Our day is darker for her having passed; however, the stars and heaven have never shined so brightly nor as passionately as they do now. Love each other, be kind, seek adventure, and never stop being curious and a bit feisty.
