February 15, 1928 – November 26, 2025
Rose Rogers passed away on November 26, 2025, at the age of 97 from complications of lung cancer. Born in Dresden, Germany, she was the first child of Golde and Chaskel (Henry) Redel. In 1938, her family escaped the dangers of World War II, relocating to Poland and, in 1939, receiving a visa to begin a new life in Bolivia.
Rose spent her teenage years in Cochabamba, where she joined the Maccabi Jewish Youth Group and excelled in track and field, particularly the broad jump. In 1947, she immigrated to the United States and began her career as a typist. She later worked as a bookkeeper and office manager for a travel agency, weight loss center, nursing home and car dealership.
She met her future husband, Randolph (Roy) Rogers, at a dance in Manhattan; they became engaged six weeks later and married in 1952. Together they raised two children, Gary and Miriam.
A devoted supporter of Jewish community causes, Rose served for many years as President of Tri-Boro Hadassah, earning multiple President’s and National Leadership awards and organizing the chapter’s successful annual Lincoln Center Ballet fundraiser. She was also active in B’nai B’rith and the National Council of Jewish Women.
Rose found joy in playing bridge, listening to classical music, attending the ballet, savoring a cup of coffee, reading a good book, admiring beautiful flowers and gardens, and welcoming friends and family into her home. She wished to be remembered as a loving mother, mother-in-law, wife, sister, sister-in-law, aunt and good friend to many.
Graveside was held at New Montefiore Cemetery at 1180 Wellwood Ave., West Babylon, NY on Friday, November 28, 2025.
