Born and raised in Union City, NJ, Ruth was the daughter of Joseph & Rose Auerbach. She earned a bachelor’s degree in teaching from Jersey City State College and taught in NJ for many years. In 1965, she married the love of her life, Gary, this marking the 60th year of their marriage. For many years Ruth stayed home to raise their three children: Alexis, Jessica & Greg, and eventually returned to work alongside her husband, first in computer software and ultimately in publishing.
In addition to her husband and three children, Ruth is survived by eight grandchildren: Kayla, Amanda, Tyler, Jackson, Brendan, Olivia, Lily and Samantha, who she loved and adored.
Funeral services will be held graveside on Wednesday, March 19 (Ruth’s birthday) 12:00 Noon at Riverside Cemetery in Saddle Brook, NJ. Shiva will begin immediately following the cemetery at the home of Jessica & Mark Gollin, 162 Devoe Road, Chappaqua, NY, and again on Thursday from 4-7:30pm.
