I spent many summers with Terry, Stevie and Robbie on Florida Rd. in Lake Mohegan. Went to Camp Woodlands and Camp Mogul together. We were all very close friends. Played softball, swam in the lake, motorboat rides, hikes. So many great memories of Terry and Stevie. A treasured picture of mine from 1960 in Lake Mohegan is Terry, Teddy, Shelley and me. Rest in Peace old friend.

Having been removed from the pen business for several years now – I have just learned about the passing of Terry.  He was the very first person I made a sales presentation to when I entered the pen business in 2000.  I clearly remember how kind and genuine he was the day we met.  For the next 20 years he was never an “account” but rather a friend I worked with.  God bless his family.  I will think of Terry often. Go Steelers!

It feels fitting to receive this tragic news via email from FPH, the legendary business that Terry, Steve, and the team built, always prioritizing the customer with respect, warmth and awesome service.  FPH was the place to visit just for the chill. 

Terry was a wonderful person. I recall like yesterday going to the back office to catch up with him and enjoy some light conversation. He had such an infectious laugh.

Gone too soon, but my fond memories of Terry will last a lifetime.

My heartfelt sympathy goes out to his family, and I am sending my deepest condolences to Stevie.

I come here a little late, not out of laziness, or indifference, but because Terry's passing hit so hard. He was more than a colleague, something different than a friend. He was a spirit, unlike anyone I had ever met. I loved that man. My entire family knew him by name, even if they never met. Terry was as Jersey/New York as one could get. Some customers needed a minute to get that the brashness and friendliness were one in the same. As a vendor for 30 plus years, there was no store I'd rather visit, that was as much fun, that made me laugh every single time we spoke. I was lucky, the store was a ten minute walk from my apartment for most of my career and Terry and Steve never once made me uncomfortable- no it was high fives and catching up every single time I walked in the door. I would love to think that was special, but he treated everyone the same way. The legion of vendors that he would kid and ride was a mile long. But the regulars, the ones who called on him year after year, show after show, loved him all the more for it.

To Terry's family, I send my deepest and heartfelt sympathies. Some of you I know, some Terry spoke so much of over the years so that I feel like I know you. You had a gem. One of a kind, But you knew that already...

We are so saddened by the loss of our cousin, Terry. We have such fond memories of fun family vacations and so many memorable and hilarious Cousin’s  Club gatherings. Condolences to Nora and family.

T was a man of firsts, along with Steve he was the first one to work, T was the first one of our group to move into the world of long hair and hippiesium, T was the first one to have his own apartment (in Fort Lee) strings of beads separating each room, where on Sunday nights we had our poker games. T was not only a Led Zeppelin fan but he saw them in central park when no one even heard of them, then he turned us into Zeppelin fanatics. He was the pitcher on our softball team. We spent tons of time at MSG going to great concerts and great Knick games, and spent a few nights at Yonkers or Roosevelt raceway. We had great times together and during all of that T was a sweet and gentle man and a great great friend. I new T for 60 years and I couldn't say a bad word about him. I loved him and I always will. ❤️ rest in peace until I see you again.  Buddy bear 🐻

Hearing of his passing was so sad. My heart and prayers are with the family. My friendship with Terry dates when FPH was primarily office supplies and then became the to go to Fountain Pen dealer in the universe!
I so enjoyed my conversations with Terry about pens but somehow we would always share out thoughts of family and life. He truly loved his family in the biggest Terry way.   We kept in contact as friends after he left the store. I truly miss his big persona and his "Mikey how are you buddy!"
I have only wonderful great memories of him, even when he forgot to place my order for a limited!
To his family, may all the good memories and stories live on for generations!

My mom was friends with his mom in the Bronx and when my parents were looking for a house and saw New Milford they remembered that was where Phil and Claire  lived so they bought a house there 
By chance I became friends with both Terry and Steve and have great memories of hanging out 
Terry had that laugh that made everyone around him laugh

I was friendly with Terry and Steve for about 10 years before I joined them at Fountain Pen Hospital in 1996. We then worked closely together for  28 years. I am so fortunate to have been able to look forward to going to work every single day!  They say "work" is the wrong word to use when you enjoy it so much, and I agree. While Terry obviously took the business very seriously, the day to day operations were often a “kick”. He had an inate marketing ability for the pen industry which played a large role in the growth of FPH. One always knew where they stood with Terry thanks to his honesty in dealing with people . Not being a "tough" boss, Terry's  humor kept the day lively. With “are you here to work or here to play?” (about as tough as Terry got), he would occasionally playfully remind an employee  to focus a little more on work! Terry loved classic rock music  and we so enjoyed a number of concerts together...the Stones, Tom Petty, etc.   My sincere condolences to the entire family and all who loved him as did I. May God rest his soul.

It was very sad to learn of Terry's passing Tuesday morning. My deepest sympathy to his family.  Terry was someone who always had a positive perspective on life.  He and I knew one another for nearly 40 years, and spent many hours sitting in his office talking, looking a pens in the showroom, or talking on the phone.  Several times I was in Terry's office when he took a call. I always rose to leave, but he motioned me to stay.  More than once I listened to Terry give advice to other stationers, competitors in the business. Once I asked Terry about a particular call. He said that the caller was new to retailing, that he needed some help, and that he was happy to offer assistance. Terry continued to explain that he didn't consider the caller a competitor, but as a colleague in the business. That is how big Terry's heart was; he willing helped those who actually were his professional competitors. What a gentleman; what a kind person.  Terry will be deeply missed by all who knew him.  May his name be for a blessing.

I have very fond memories of Terry especially, his shall we say, “colorful” evaluations of new pens I would present to him! Whatever his evaluations were, I always passed them on as I valued his opinion as he was one of the most influential people in the pen business. The FPH pen fairs were the best as it was a family atmosphere with Terry, Steve, Ed and the entire staff making it fun and profitable. I was honored to call Terry a friend.

I have a heavy heart along with the fondest memories of the wonderful parties  I attended as a guest with Robert. Terry was the life of the party! Always smiling,happy and so generous to all around him. 
My husband ,Bob, worked for BIC Pen in the seventies and had Fountain Pen Hospital as one of his accounts. His memories of Terry and his dad are so heartwarming. “They would always give me an offer so I could meet my quota for the month”. The nicest people in the pen industry. 
My love to all as together we celebrate a life well lived.

Terry has been a part of my pen life for over 50 years. He and Steve have made this hobby even more pleasurable through that smile, sense of humor, honesty and knowledge. A staple of so many shows, going back to NJ days, it was always a treat to kibbitz and deal with these guys.
Buying from NYPH was as simple as the phone call and Terry would always come in to my calls.
I will miss him and respect all he brought to so many of us.

My thoughts and prayers to the family. Terry was a true visionary in the writing instrument industry . I will never forget sitting on his desk , not in the chair , so many talks about the industry and what I am doing, which he cared greatly about.

Terry’s impact will be felt on me (and his memory will be celebrated by me) for the rest of my life. He burned bright and I will always cherish and be inspired by his childlike sense of humor and wonder. I will also never forget the time he brought me and Erica to The Rolling Stones concert. I write this with a heavy heart.  I was intoduced to Terry in  through my father Harold Rosenberg, former director  of Waterman pens and  my partner in The Conklin Pen Company. As a young man following my fathers footsteps into the writing instrument buisiness , Terry 's advice and guidance waqs always appreciated. Over the years  we became more then just  business associates, we bacame good friends.  He was the first person I called upon my fathers suden passing in 2008.  I will always remenber his wonderful laugh and words of wisdom.   His work ethic was bare none . He was "Old School" and built FPH into  one of the leading pen retailer in the United Staes. My condolences to  
his family. May his Memory be a blessing.

How to describe a wonderful friend of 54 years?

Truly a great buddy in every regard, through highs & lows, trials & tribulations.  From early mornings to late, late nights nearly approaching sunrise, we laughed, we cried, we tested reality & ourselves.  Most importantly, we were always there for each other through thick & thin.

When I think of you, immediately, I smile.  The world was & is a better place because of you.

I shall always miss you my brother.  Sleep well, I'm sure Claire & Phil can once again hug you dearly.

Terry and I were in the same business the pen business.  we were in our own business for more than 30 years. Our relationship was quite unusual as we spoke between 730 and 8 o’clock every weekday for all those years. He is quite an unusual character and very unique. A lot of fun and always ready to entertain a little bit. He will be truly missed. You don’t find relationships like this very easily and when they are cut it, they are truly heartbreaking. The fact is that our relationship was not unique. He was that way with many People in the industry. My sincere condolences to the family and to everyone that will miss him as I do.
