Dear Rick and Family, 

May God bless you and Charlene as she makes her way back home.  

May your heart be full of wonderful memories to keep her always close.

 I was greatly saddened to hear of Charlene's passing.  I feel blessed to have known her and her family. Her daughter Lisa and I have great friends for many many years and during that time I have to come to feel very close to  Charlene. She will be missed! And although these first few days are extemely difficult to navigate I believe Charlene will be remembered as a woman determined to live life to its fullest. I offer my deepest condolences to her family.

Charlene was definitely one of a kind!  She showed such grit and determination throughout her illness; giving up the fight was never an option.  She loved the Green Bay Packers.  The 1996-97 season was showing great promise for a Super Bowl appearance with the the last playoff game scheduled at home against the Carolina Panthers.  At the time we lived five blocks from Lambeau Field. Charlene called to see if she, Rick, Stephanie and Jim could drive up and watch the game with us.  Since none of us had tickets to see the game, it would be fun to watch it together near all the action!  What a great idea!  Some friends joined us and it turned out to be the best Packer party ever!  Charlene and I were first cousins; our dads were brothers and we shared a “gutsy” nature.  I truly loved that about her!  Rest in peace with the Lord's abiding love dear Charlene.

I have known Charlene and her extended family since I was a small child. She was like a second mom to me as I grew up with her daughter Lisa and the Wenzel kids. She was an inspiration to me in so many ways. Rick was an amazing husband and caregiver to her. I last saw Charlene about a year ago when I was in town and decided to stop by and catch up with dear friends. I am so glad that after all these years I was able to spend some  time with her. Although she fought a hard battle, there was always joy in her voice and a smile on her face. I will forever remember her joy and delight the day I saw her. My condolences to the entire family; if I could be there for you I certainly would.

Our Sincere condolences to you and your family in the loss of Charlene.  You (Rick) were her rock through her long and rocky journey.  She is at peace now and you all had many good memories with her.  We watched you grow up and took care of all of your family.

Having known charlene since childhood as a neighbor and sister to Stephanie,my friend. This news of her death, brings me to great sadness that she had such a suffering MS lifestyle with all the compications it affords its' victims and early death.... Charlene was such a fun and jovial person in her youth even when we visited... in recent years... I extend my sympathy to her husband all of her family.
