

On Monday, September 20, 2021, Anita Josephine Morrison passed away peacefully in Ottawa, Ontario. Anita was born in Mt. Carmel, NL on November 1, 1930 to parents William and Elizabeth (Bella) (Nolan) Power. She lived most of her life in Halifax and spent the last years of her life in Ottawa.
Anita will be lovingly remembered by her children Mark (Matilde), Paul, Sue Ellen and Bruce (Tina), her grandchildren Andrew, Sarah, Laura, Grace and Tyler, and her brothers Ralph and William (Eleanor).
Anita was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Morrison, as well as her siblings William, George, Mary, Stella, John, and Walter Power, and Theresa Behan; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Francis and Hannah Power and Thomas and Marie Power; her sister and brother-in-law, Frances and William Pike, and her sister-in-law, Shirley Power. Anita will also be lovingly remembered by Theresa’s widower, Ernie Behan (Jackie), Walter’s widow, Phyllis Power, numerous nieces, nephews and relatives within the Power and Morrison families, and dear friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in memory of Anita on Tuesday, September 28th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Theresa’s Church, 6351 North Street, Halifax, NS.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Anita may be made to the Palliative Care Unit, Élisabeth Bruyère Hospital through the Bruyère Foundation, 43 Bruyère Street, Ottawa, ON, K1N 5C8 (613-562-6319 or https://www.bruyere.org/en/bruyere-foundation).
