On Saturday October 1, 2022, Bud Meade passed away peacefully at home at the age of sixty-nine. Born to Cyril and Joan Meade, Bud was one of five children and always loved to tell stories about his misspent youth and the grief he and his siblings would cause their mother after his father passed away when he was young.
Bud was a simple man who loved simple things, reading, The Blue Jays, The Patriots and spending time with his family. No family get together was complete without Bud’s potato salad. He made the best potato salad ever. This is probably controversial as most people have someone who they think makes the best potato salad. All those other people are wrong. Just ask anyone in our family and they will tell you – Uncle Bud made the best hands down.
Bud’s greatest loves of all were his grandchildren. From the moment his first grandchild Kayla was born he was the best grandpa. He loved Kayla, Cooper, Violet, Charlie and Noah and spent countless hours reading them books, listening to their stories and watching the same movies repeatedly. He was an amazing Grandpa who loved them all with his whole heart. He loved going to their games and school events and watching them grow.
Bud will be missed dearly by all the family members he leaves behind. He is survived by his sisters Patricia (Brent) and Mary Anne (David) and brothers Danny (Charlene) and Kenny (Rebecca), his nieces and nephews Deanna, Jason, Jessica, Shannon, Krista, Nicole, Michelle, Danny, Charlene and Bud along with numerous great nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his children Terra (Erik) and Patrick and their mother, his ex-wife, Stephanie.
We are honouring our fathers wishes and there will be no service or viewing. We will miss our father deeply and are heartbroken that he is gone. There are so many stories we will continue to tell for years to come whenever we get together and think back on the time we got to spend with our dad. A few lessons we learned that we will always carry with us:
• If you ever need to be picked up just call. No questions asked, anytime day or night. Our father spent many a night trying to wrangle us into the car when picking us up after a night out.
• Always stop at McDonalds on the way home (needs no explanation-when you know you know)
• Always tell your children you love them, and you are proud of them. You can never say it too often or enough.
Please leave messages and pictures below for our family and help us remember what a great man Bud was. Thanks
