My heartfelt condolences to the Vemb family Craig is  truly missed by all who knew him and loved him

Happen to stumble across the obit of  Craig on Facebook and did know of his passing. Our sincerest condolences to Craig’s family. I remember fond memories of Craig and his brothers at the Police Boys Club. I also spoke with  Craig often in the Whites Lake area in past couple of years. I enjoyed Craig and other members of his family a lot and have nothing but good things to say about each one of them. Rest In Peace my friend,will miss you.



Craig leaves behind a beautifully wonderful family Ricky, Rhonda, Laila, and Charles and all family mentioned prior. As well before him a wonderful man his Dad and his surviving Mom Jean. In the formative years it was my first fishing expedition in Curly's boat  on the Bedford Basin, my Dad, Gordon had a giant lure and a test line sized right for a large sea-going Tuna or best.  At the instant it was drop into the water a struggle ensued this was not a fish that I was anticipating,  this thing took the giant lure and snapped the line. Many years past I told this fabled story "the one that got away". Only just recently, and after speaking with Craig and scuba diving invite, he mentioned the blue fin sharks are like pussy cats pay them no mind. That's when the riddle was solved it was a shark that took our lure and line, so aggressively of course!
Craig had a non-relentless advocacy and determination for Africvilleans rights and land's claim.  That only has recently reached a milestone achievement just days after his passing. That Craig himself would see fruition of his unending toll and due-diligence, how this brings an unwavering pain of sorrow. Thank-you, Craig for the gift of dedication and loyalty and love. In God's house your loyalty is obviously needed more at this time.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all during this difficult time. Craig was a fun, kind and caring man who will be greatly missed. I have many fond memories of Craig from sitting on the bank all day fishing bass to scuba diving for lobster (mackerel). Always laughing and would give you whatever he could. He was a great man and will be missed by many. 

This Viking warrior would of been a king on his Viking  ( Norwegian ) side. 
Tell it like it is never backed down from anybody. 
And while he was in the fight of it still laughing and hitting. 
If he was your friend he would do anything for you. 
This brother grew up  with my family we considered him one of our brothers. 
He IS and always will be one of my heroes. 
He taught me how to Scuba Dive when I was 12-13 years of age. 
I won't say RIP because your life has just begun somewhere else and I shall see you again  my brother

I have only fond memories of being mentored by Curly, and always welcomed by Jean, from my youth.   I was fortunate to know this family then, and more recently to occasionally cross paths with Craig over the years and share a smile.

I am sorry to learn the sad news.  My sincere condolences to the entire family.  I will never forget the warmth I received there.

Craig was a great friend to us for many years. I enjoyed my fishing trips with him and Joyce over the years, always a laugh and we can't forget the lobster deliveries. I’ll always remember Craig smiling, such a nice guy. He had so many stories of working with my brother who we lost in 2002. I too eventually got to work with Craig, during my training I got put in a brute with him “these are the money makers” he said, that’s always stuck with me. I always loved hearing him tell stories, I’m quiet and stay to myself but Craig definitely wasn’t, he was the life of the room and will be sadly missed. My condolences to friends and family. I remember back 4 years ago when I was still in the bullpen for a finish job on a Saturday night finish and there was 40 of us there.The dispatcher asked Craig to pick one out of all of us and to my surprise he picked me to work with him on the mud boat.Since then whenever I work with him,he always gives me inspirational advice on everything.I will never forget the kindness he’s shown me and treated me like family.Rest in peace my friend and big brutha

I went to Richmond with Craig, funny I was just thinking about him yesterday. I was so grateful when came my school as I was bullied for a long time and he put an end to all that! Not sure why, but wouldn’t let anyone lay a hand in me and everyone knew it. Often thought of him over the years , always grateful.  Your not forgotten buddy...... 

I remember a time being at craigs. He had made big stash egg rolls he made . Omg they were so good. He also showed me his fish pond. Which was beautiful.  My condolences to family. So sorry for your loss. Craig was an is a great man. 

Please accept my sincere condolences for your loss. I haven’t seen Craig for years but knew him since junior high school in Halifax. We also served in Navy in Esquimalt, BC in the early 80’s. I always remember Craig as an honest guy who defended anyone that was being bullied. God Bless!

I remember our childhood memories growing up when my family lived on Water  street and the Vemb family lived on their houseboat . What fun times they were. It is very trying to witness anyone, let alone someone you love, deal with a life threatening disease.  Craig was a young man.  We were very sorry to hear of his struggle with cancer.
