

of Edna on September 10 ,2011 in the Queen Elizabeth Health Sciences Centre, Halifax Infirmary Site .Born in Halifax, she was the oldest child of the late William Henry and Clara( Hamm) Gray. She was predeceased by her husband Edgar Purcell and her sons Eddie and Donnie Purcell; her brothers Howard (Laura) Gray, Russell Gray and sister Mary (George) Neil. She is survived by her devoted daughter- in -law, Shirley Purcell; granddaughter, Joy Earle; great-granddaughters Leanne (Paul) McCarron and Angela Earle; great-greatgrandchildren, Spencer, Isabel and Graeme McCarron of Halifax; extended family members in Western Canada; former grandson- in- law, Bob Earle; nephew, Bobby Neil; great- nieces, Brenda Lee(John) Margettes and Tammy Gray; and many cherished friends throughout Canada and the US. Until her final days Percy, the proud matriarch of five generations, actively enjoyed contact with her dear friends and family and was always animated in discussions about politics and the Toronto Blue Jays. Arrangements are under the care of Cruikshanks Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St. Halifax. Edna’s body has been cremated .There be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held 10 am Thursday, September 15, 2011 in St. Agnes Church, Mumford Rd. Halifax. Rev. John Williams officiating. Private family internment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or charity of your choice.
