Elsie Maud Barker

BARKER, Elsie Maud — 86, of Halifax, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010, in the VG Site, QEII, Palliative Care Unit. Born in Halifax, she was a daughter of the late Annie (Dunphy) and James Rustin. She enjoyed playing cards and going to bingo with her many friends. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and wife to Earl Barker, who predeceased her in 2007. She is survived by her sister, Kathleen (Hugh) Gillespie; sons, Alfred Burns, Delta, B.C.; Derek (Norma) Barker, George (Debra) Barker and daughter, Deborah (Chris) Driscoll, all of Halifax; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by sisters, Mary (Harold) Rafters-Daniels, Marie (George) Howard and brothers, George (Pearl) Rustin, and James who died in infancy. Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 25, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Cruikshank Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie St., Halifax.
