

Frederick Thomas Illingworth age 79 of Halifax passed away July 21, 2017 in The Veteran’s Memorial Building, Camphill.
Born in Guelph Ontario in 1938, joined the RCN in Cornwallis in1956 and retired as CWO Airborne Electonic Sensor Operator in 1992. Served at Shearwater 881 & 880 Squadrons, CFANS Winnipeg, Summerside 415 Squadron and Greenwood 405 & 404 Squadrons. Had the privilege of. serving as Base Chief Warrant Officer 14 Wing Greenwood from 1982 – 1987. In 1986 served as the Executive Director of the Greenwood Military Family Resource Centre until his retirement in 2002.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey, Petawawa Ontario, Richard, Airdrie, Alberta, David, Hampton New Brunswick and Steven, Banff Alberta, daughter Heather, Petawawa Ontario, their mother and friend Jean Illingworth, Coldbrooke, Nova Scotia and granddaughters Charley, Jamey, Sydney, Micaleigh, and grandson Tristian, and sister Barbara Thompson of Durham Ontario.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial will be arranged at a later date. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in memory.
