

Cain, James Albert 75, passed away peacefully at the QEII Health Science Centre on November 14, 2016. Born in North Preston on December 26, 1940. He was the son of the late James and Dora (Simmonds) Cain. James married the late Alvena (Loppie) Cain in 1970, they were happily married for 44 years. He was a phenomenal husband, father and grand-father. James worked tirelessly as a tradesman for over 60 years and retired in 2012. He was a dedicated member of Cornwallis Street Baptist Church and was a man of strong faith. He will always be remembered for his sense of humor, kind-spirit, and loving heart.
James is survived by his sons, Wayne, Jason, Sheldon, Halifax; daughters, Carmen, Jenny; Toronto, Donna, Linda (Elvis) Rosalyn, (Buzzell), Halifax, Starr (Maher) Sackville, Mitzie (Alston), Nadine (Roland), Dartmouth. Seven-teen grandchildren: Grandchildren: Nadine, EJ (Santina), Jasonia, Jasmine, Courtney, Kadeem, Jessie, Dwayne, Royal, Ashley, Seirra, Raven, Jaleel, Rosalyn, Nadia, Noah and Jason. Eight great-grandchildren: G’Shaeo, Jaron, Jalen, Ronei, Nevaeh, Jayden, Nakyron, Raine, Jessiah, and Niara. Surviving Siblings, Marjorie (Henry), Evelyn (Ralph), Pearl (Walter), Melvin (Pearl), Ronnie (Lillian), Yvonne, Raymond (Evelyn), Jennifer, Beazley (Cathy), Alma, Rhoda (Buster), Bobbie, Violet, Abby, Steven (Paula), Wayne and Purcel. Godchildren; Tanya, Faith, Patricia and Valarie. Sisters in-law; Kathleen, Rose and Debra (Claude); Brothers in-law; James (Lydia) and Leroy. Predeceased by siblings; Jarvis, Angus and Vennie. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2-4pm and 6-8pm in Cruikshanks Halifax Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor St; Halifax, with a Going Home Service to be held Friday November 18th in Cornwallis Street Baptist Church at 1:00pm. Dr. Rhonda Britton officiating; Rev. Wallace Smith assisting.
