Gannon; James Francis , 72 of Halifax, passed away August 10, 2011 at home. Born and raised in Africville, he was a son of the late William and Evelyn (Whalen) Gannon. He was an awesome honorable husband and father, a strong Africville activist, also an avid football fan. Surviving are his wife of 52 years Lorraine (Brown), sons James, Troy, Derrick, Carlos and Roberto all of Montreal, daughters Densil, North Carolina, Bonita, Halifax, Palas, Toronto, Lorraine, Halifax, brothers Kenny, William, Nolan, sisters Patricia, Carol, Wanda, 18 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild. Visiting will be today 6-8 pm in Cruikshank Halifax Funeral Home , 2666 Windsor St. Halifax, Funeral, 10am Friday in Blessed Mother Tresa Parish, 6032 Normandy Dr., Halifax.
