

Jennifer Haley Eweka – Age 30, of Halifax. It is with heavy heart that we announce the passing of Jenn on Saturday November 28th at the QE II in Halifax, holding hands with her mom and brother. Jennifer was born at the old Grace in Halifax 5 minutes after Justin. She attended St. Francis and Gorsebrook schools and was a graduate of QEH class of 2006. She was employed at Prescott in Halifax for the past several years. Jenn’s big love was sport, especially soccer. She was part of this year’s Provincial Championship Team and was the 2015 winner of the Danny Woods Memorial Trophy presented to the athlete who most embodies sportsmanship and the support of team mates in Special Olympics. It was not only soccer. Jenn played basketball and golf, and was part of Special Olympics swimming, track, skating, curling teams. As a young gal she was in Cubs, Brownies and Scouts, and recently was part of the Scotia Cheer Allstars team. Jenn’s favorite social spot was The Club, where she was a beloved member. Jennifer is survived by her mother Verda, her twin brother Justin, several aunts, uncles and cousins. Jenn was predeceased by her Grandmother Edna Cromwell, Aunt Vona Cromwell and Uncle Alden Cromwell and Great Grandmother Ruth Cromwell. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to the staff of QE II Emerg., 3IMCU, 8.2 and 5.2 ICU. In lieu of flowers the family would like you to remember Jenn by making a donation to Halifax Special Olympics. Visitation: 6-8 pm Friday at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home, 2666 Windsor Street. Funeral service will be held 3:30 pm Saturday at St. James Anglican Church, at the Rotary.; cremation to follow. Jenn immediately captured your attention with her giant personality and infectious laughter. You knew you were in the presence of an individual who loved life and all who were in it. Her determination, whether finishing a play or making sure you were welcomed and part of the team, were legendary. Her heart was huge and she made sure you knew you were in it.
