Age 74 of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at the Sagewood Continuing Care Community on May 8, 2023. He was a son of the late Albert and Frederica (Wilson) Gilbert. Along with his parents, Joey was also predeceased by his brother, Barry.
Joey was a gentle, loving soul. He lived a simple life allowing his faith to not only guide him but also protect him.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Janet Gilbert; niece, Jessica Milburn (G.A.) and her family, Colby, Dally and Sydney along with his nephew, James Gilbert and his daughter, Lilly.
Thank you to the staff at the Sagewood, and prior to that the staff at Dartmouth General Hospital 3 West for their devoted care.
A private graveside service was held for Joey on Wednesday, May 10 at Fairview Cemetery, Halifax.
