Dear Helen, David, Graham and Stephen:
Rena and I were so sorry to hear of Len's passing. 
We've known Len for 50 years.
I enjoyed working for and with Len for 23 years. He was a great teacher and leader: always positive and helpful showing the depth of his knowledge in electric power systems combined with a very humane side. Many people I met in the electric world always spoke of Len with well earned respect. 
We enjoyed his considerable social attributes in both work associated gatherings and in the social events/barbeques at your home.
He had a great sense of humour and with his subtle British whit you could sometimes miss a whole point if not paying attention.
We're certain that you have a wealth of memories to help you adjust to Len not being there.

Please accept heartfelt condolences from a onetime colleague of Mr. Sweett's at Nova Scotia Power. He was the most gracious & friendly person to ever fill an executive's shoes – no officiousness or self-importance at all.  His warm sense of humour & respect for others made everyone feel recognized & valued. He had the common touch and remembered everyone by name, even after he'd retired. Reading his obit, I learned that he was an even better person than I knew – but no surprise. He was just a lovely, lovely man and I'm very sad for your loss.  ~ Margo Grant

I worked under Len when I first started with NSP ,  he was our VP then and I always remember his kindness and he was so humble, God Bless to all.

To Helen and all of Len’s family.  Louanne and I are saddened by Len’s passing, which somehow seemed far too soon, even though he enjoyed a long and fulfilling life of achievements in England and in Canada, and certainly a life of generous service to his community here in Nova Scotia. He and Helen were a formidable couple in their joint volunteer work with organizations like the Food Bank, Sunday Suppers, and the Out in the Cold Shelter. Louanne and I first met Len and Helen in 1969 when they became for nearly half a century our next door neighbors on Flamingo Drive – and indeed we could never have asked for kinder, friendlier, more helpful, or more interesting neighbors. We enjoyed wonderful evenings and great meals at their home and lively conversations about everything, including politics. Len was also helpful during times of minor crises. For example, when a would-be thief stopped his car in front of our house in the middle of the night (while Louanne and I were away) to steal one or two of our recently planted rhododendrons, Len was quickly and fearlessly out of his house to apprehend the thief in the act and replant the bushes. Mostly, though, we appreciated the Sweets' interest in our kids, and especially the times Len showed our two or three year old grandson Henry through (in Henry’s imagination) Len’s exotic backyard garden – or when Len listened intently to Henry reading through the fence one of his childhood story books. So to Helen and all of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild, we offer our sympathy for your great loss.

My condolences to all Len’s family
I worked for NS Power through those years when Len was Vice President. He would often visit the out lying offices for presentations to workers. We always had great respect for him and looked up to him and his knowledge

I am so sorry to see Len’s obituary in todays paper. I worked with him for many years at Nova Scotia Power. He was a wonderful man.  

My first memory of Len was when he and Stephen picked me up for a family dinner on Flamingo Dr. On the drive there he started to ask me questions about myself, however one question struck me as odd. He pointed out the window to the Halifax container pier and said “ Do you know what that place is ?”  I thought to myself … weird. Yes I said. That was all he needed to know about me… I passed the test. 
Len’s wit and humour will never be forgotten. A great , proud and caring grandfather. 
My thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.
