Linda Mary Ramsay

RAMSAY, Linda Mary — 57, Halifax, passed away Thursday, May 6, 2010, at the QEII Health Sciences Centre peacefully with family by her side. Born in Ottawa and raised in Halifax, Linda was the daughter of the late Earl and Florence (Carmichael) Hopewell. Linda was a devoted ICU Nurse and Instructor at the Old Halifax Infirmary. She loved spending time with family and friends and had many fond memories of traveling overseas with her husband Bruce. Linda enjoyed swimming, boating and camping and was admired for her outgoing personality. Though diagnosed with MS as a young woman, she did not let the illness define her. Linda will be remembered for her strength, motivation and unbreakable spirit. Survived by her dedicated husband, Bruce Ramsay; daughter, Jessica Ramsay (Brad Watt), Lower Sackville; son, Mathew Ramsay (Donna), St. John's, N.L.; grandchildren, Emma, Claudia, Bruce; brother, David Hopewell, Halifax; sister, Heather Hopewell, British Columbia; and many special nieces and nephews. Cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering to celebrate the life of this beautiful woman at 11 a.m. on Monday, May 10 at Cruikshank's Halifax Funeral Home, 2032 Robie Street.
