

Born in Halifax on June 5, 1955, he was the son of the late Charles “Red” and Bernice (Bourgeois) Burchell.
Mark was a graduate of St. Pat’s High School and went on to an outstanding career in retail with an extended affiliation with Moores Clothing for Men.
Following in his father’s footsteps, he was a talented and avid baseball player. Mark remained a faithful sports fan to the end.
Before his health declined, he and Lynn travelled extensively, loving the warmth of the southern sun. They also found great enjoyment in antique hunting and attending auctions.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lynn (Coolen) Burchell, daughter Laura Burchell-Webb (Cory), beloved granddaughter, Talia Webb, sister Linda Cody, as well as many nieces , nephews and other loved ones.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to Mark’s numerous health care providers including Dr. Veronik LePage and the nurses of the VON.
Family flowers only; in lieu, donations may be made to the Diabetes Association (Canadian) or a charity of your choice.
Visitation will be 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, April 7 at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home on Windsor Street. Celebration of Mark’s life will be held at St. Theresa’s Church, North Street at 11 am on Saturday, April 8, 2017.
