McGrath, Mary Theresa, age 86, of Halifax. Passed away on January 19, 2019 at St Vincent’s Nursing Home.
Born in Sydney Mines. She was a daughter of the late Eldridge and Annie (Mac Neil) Young. Mary became a registered nurse who was very dedicated to her patients. During her career, she worked at the Halifax Infirmary, Civic Hospital, St Vincent’s Guest Home and Camp Hill Veterans Hospital.
Mary loved her grandchildren. She enjoyed travelling, especially to Disneyworld in Florida. She also took pleasure in reading and going for walks.
Mary is survived by Frank McGrath, her husband of 58 years; children Paul (Tania), David (Gail Forsythe), Patricia Smith (Kirby Carruthers); and grandchildren Connor and Shaye McGrath, as well as Laura and Andrew Smith.
Funeral service will be on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 11:00 am at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 6351 North Street, Halifax. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
