

Patricia (Pat) O’Toole, 83, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, passed away on Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, at Northwood Bedford, surrounded by close family members and many more who were praying for her who couldn’t be there in person.
Pat was born in 1941 in Halifax to Alice and John (Jack) O’Toole. She was the beloved mother of Bonnie O’Toole, Grandmother of Evan and Ethan Larose. She was the eldest of six children; sister to Mike O’Toole (wife Barbara), Anne Swinamer (husband Chris), Paul O’Toole, Sean O’Toole (wife Linda), and Janet O’Toole (deceased husband Richard). She is an aunt to many nieces and nephews, beloved cousins, and a cherished friend to many. She lived with her daughter Bonnie and her grandsons, Evan and Ethan, for 20 years until she entered long-term care three years ago.
Pat lived a life full of love and dedication to her family and community. She worked for Maritime Tel & Tel (MT&T) for 31 years as an Accounting Supervisor. She dedicated a great deal of time to charitable causes, often in leadership roles, including:

Pat found joy in knitting, crochet, needlepoint, cross-stitch, ceramics, painting, stained glass, photography, theatre, music, travel, reading, and collecting mementos.
A funeral will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, January 11th, 2025, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 6903 Mumford Rd, Halifax. The burial will be at noon at the Gate of Heaven in Lower Sackville. Visitation will be at Cruikshank’s Funeral Home on Windsor St. Halifax, from 6-9 PM on Friday, January 10th. In lieu of flowers or donations, hug your loved ones and say a kind word to a stranger.
The family would like to express gratitude to the many caregivers who have cared for Pat over the years, especially to the amazing caregivers at Northwood Bedford for their remarkable, compassionate care. Their dedication to the residents' dignity and emotional well-being is outstanding.
She touched many lives and will be lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her. Pat’s legacy will live on.
