Robert "Sonny" Wayne Demone

With heavy hearts, the family of Robert “Sonny” DeMone announce his passing on January 5th, 2018 at the age of 74. Sonny was born on November 30th, 1943 in Halifax to the late Robert and Isabel DeMone. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Audrey who cared for him throughout his illness; his sons Gregory, Ian (Huma) and Brian (Rhonda); his daughters Heather (Jaeson) and Kelly (Jimmy). Sonny will be lovingly remembered by his nine grandchildren; Morgan, Junayd, Jonah, Rania, Ana, Zayn, Zak, Cole and Ava. He is also survived by his two sisters Brenda and Sherill and brother Lloyd; sisters-in-law Bev, Margaret, Rene and Helen; brother in law Kenny (Bernadette) and several nieces and nephews. Sonny was predeceased by his sister Barbara and his brother Barry; his mother-in-law Bernadette, as well as his grandson Mujahid.

His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he always gave freely of his time, wisdom and love, living unselfishly in the name of his devout Catholic faith. Sonny enjoyed a successful career with MT&T where lifetime friendships were formed. After retiring, he enjoyed working in his gardens, sharing his love of nature with his grandchildren and volunteering at his church. Sonny will always be remembered for his love of music and spending time with family and friends.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be at St. Rose of Lima Church, 9 Jamieson St., Fall River on Tuesday January 9, 2018 between 6:30pm - 9:00pm. Funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday January 10, 2018 at 10:00am at St. Rose of Lima.
